Motion Capture Filmmaking

*What I learned: That people can use motion capture technology to get the characters to look more emotional because according to the article regular animated characters seem soulless.  *What I found interesting: That this technology threatens to overrun live actors.  With more and more technical advances in the film industry it seems that a lot of the traditional actors, other than the ones who star in blockbuster films, are becoming pretty scarce.  *What I disagree with:  Although the industry keeps advancing its technology that doesn't mean that using live actors will become obsolete because no machine can match real acting talents.  *What I liked about this:  That people can make such detailed 3D characters using this technology.  They use this technology in films like The Avengers, Avatar, The Lord of The Rings, and many others.  They also use this kind of technology in 3D video games.  I know this because I once saw a behind the scenes look on the making of Halo 4 and they used motion capture technology in order to get the characters to look like real people.  When they were making it they would have the actors wear the special suits and perform actions they're supposed to perform according to a script.  They would then bring the film to the 3D modelers so they could sculpt the right character onto the motion capture models.
