Movie Review: The Lego Movie

Normally anything Lego related is usually cliche.  However, this movie is completely different.  It went beyond my expectations.  I'm going to avoid saying what happens in the movie because I don't want to spoil it for anyone.  I will say this though.  This movies message is that everything and everyone is special in their own way.  It's a cliche that KNOWS it's a cliche.  If you've ever read the book "The Hero With A Thousand Faces" then this movie will make more sense.  The book is written by Joseph Campbell and says that no idea is 100% original because each story, no matter what it is, has already been told.  This movie demonstrates that perfectly with the story being about a chosen hero.  But the difference between this movie and other hero movies is that this movie is self aware and knows it's a movie about an ordinary guy becoming a hero.  It even brakes the 4th wall a few times.  It's an interesting movie and is definitely worth seeing for both its story and its animation style.  I've seen a lot of movies, but very few of them can do what this movie can do.  Also, the theme song for this movie is annoyingly catchy.
