Article Response: Crowdfunding and the Future of Animation
*What I didn't know: 1) That executives would allow people to see rejected pilot episodes in order to see how the people felt about it. 2) There was a children's cartoon called The Lighthouse and The Lock was originally developed for Cartoon Network UK as a pilot episode, but was returned to its creator. 3) That many animators turn to YouTube to gain any kind of reputation. **What I thought: 1) I think that the article is definitely very interesting with regards to how animators either pitch their work to executives or use the internet to raise money for their causes. 2) I liked the idea of using crowds of people to determine whether or not a pilot episode is good or not. ***Question: Would things really be that bad if tv executives allowed the creators of the show to keep the rights to it?
