Article response: microphones

What I didn't know: that hand held mice are also considered cardioid mics. And that they have a heart shape pickup pattern. What I did know: that performance mics can pickup both sides of the conversation without having to move it too much. What I found interesting: that shotgun mics haves narrow recording pattern and that there are ways to attach the shotgun mic directly to the camera. What I agree with: that you should avoid buying cheap mics because they're probably not that good. Also, that it doesn't matter if you buy the best shotgun mic, that won't fix all of your audio problems. It's not the equipment that's always the issue.
